Skin Cancer

As a patient in our clinic you can have a complete skin exam to screen for skin cancer. One out of 3 Florida residents will get skin cancer, so most adults need a yearly skin examination as well as monthly self-exams to look for new, changing, or irregular moles or skin growths. The most common types of skin cancer occur on the head, neck, and exposed arms or hands that receive sun exposure every day, all year long. There are 3 main types of skin cancer, all of which can usually be treated in the clinic:

  • Basal Cell Carcinoma
  • Squamous Cell Carcinoma
  • Malignant Melanoma

Skin Surgery

Dr. Smith completed a 3-year residency in Cutaneous (Skin) Surgery as well as Dermatology. In addition to surgical removal of skin cancer, she can remove moles, cysts, and dysplastic or atypical moles.
